Support at Home, plainly
Support at Home is the Australian Government’s programme for older people who want to keep living at home. It started in November 2025 and replaced Home Care Packages.
- How you get it: an aged care assessment decides what you’re approved for. Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
- What it can cover: everyday help like cleaning, shopping and meals; help with showering, medication and transport; and clinical care like nursing.
- What it costs: you contribute based on the services you use and what you can afford. You don’t contribute to clinical care. From 1 October 2026, personal care in your approved plan is fully funded.
- Where we fit: Trilogy Care manages your funding. We deliver the support in your home.
What do our workers provide?
Through Trilogy Care, Complete Choice workers provide everyday support in your home: personal care — showering, dressing, grooming · household tasks and domestic help · meal preparation · transport to appointments and shopping · social support and companionship. They’re the same teams who deliver our National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports, working to the same standards.
How do you start?
You start with an aged care assessment through My Aged Care, which decides whether you’re eligible and what you’re approved for. Once you’re approved, you choose Trilogy Care as your provider and ask Trilogy Care for Complete Choice as your service provider. Here are the four steps.
- Get assessed — My Aged Care, 1800 200 422 or myagedcare.gov.au.
- Get approved — eligibility and funding level confirmed.
- Choose Trilogy Care as your approved provider.
- Ask for Complete Choice as your service provider through Trilogy Care.
We can’t assess eligibility or approve funding — that’s My Aged Care. What we can do is explain the process, and take it from step four.
Are aged care and the NDIS different systems?
Yes. Separate funding, separate rules, and you can’t get NDIS and aged care supports at the same time. An NDIS participant who starts Support at Home or permanent residential aged care for the first time after turning 65 leaves the NDIS. Complete Choice works in both. Under 65 with a disability? The NDIS is usually the right pathway.
How does it start?
It starts with a phone call to our office. You tell us what you need, or what you're not sure about. Then we look at your plan and funding, meet you, and agree in writing what your support looks like. Support begins after that, with review dates built in so it keeps fitting your life.

Questions people ask
Is Complete Choice an approved aged care provider?
No. Trilogy Care holds the aged care approval and manages your funding under the Support at Home programme. Complete Choice provides the workforce: the support workers who come to your home. To have Complete Choice deliver your support, choose Trilogy Care as your provider and ask Trilogy Care for Complete Choice as your service provider.
What is a Support at Home package?
Support at Home is the Australian Government's in-home aged care programme. It replaced Home Care Packages in November 2025, so it isn't a package in the old sense. If an aged care assessment approves you for ongoing services, you're given one of eight classifications with funding, based on your care needs. There are also three short-term pathways.
What does a Support at Home package include?
Support at Home services fall into three groups. Clinical supports include nursing, occupational therapy, podiatry and help with showering or dressing. Independence supports include transport, respite and help getting to appointments or social events. Everyday living supports include cleaning, gardening, shopping and meal preparation. You and your provider agree the mix, and you can ask to change it.
How do I get assessed?
Through My Aged Care: call 1800 200 422 or apply at myagedcare.gov.au. An aged care assessment decides whether you're eligible for ongoing or short-term Support at Home services, and what you're approved for. You then receive a letter explaining your services and funding. Complete Choice can't assess you or approve funding, but we can explain the process.
Can I choose Complete Choice as my worker?
Yes, if you're with Trilogy Care. Trilogy Care holds the approval and manages your funding, so ask them for Complete Choice as your service provider. If you're not with Trilogy Care yet, you first need an aged care assessment and approval, then you choose Trilogy Care as your provider. Call our office and we'll explain how it works.
Can I have aged care and NDIS at the same time?
No. The NDIS says you can't get NDIS and aged care supports at the same time. If you're an NDIS participant and, after turning 65, you're approved for Support at Home services or move permanently into residential aged care for the first time, you leave the NDIS. Let the NDIS know if that happens to you.
What areas do you cover?
Adelaide, within 100km of the CBD. Complete Choice's office is at 39 John St, Salisbury, and its workers come to your home anywhere in that area. For aged care, Complete Choice works through Trilogy Care, which manages your Support at Home funding. If you're not sure whether your suburb is covered, call our office and we'll tell you.
