Assistance with Travel and Transport Arrangements
NDIS travel and transport assistance in Adelaide
Getting there is half of taking part.
Travel and transport assistance is NDIS funding to help you get where you need to go when public transport or driving isn't an option — medical appointments, work, study, shopping, seeing people.
It covers two things: being driven and accompanied, and learning to travel on your own. Complete Choice provides both across Adelaide within 100km of the CBD.
What we help with
Medical and allied health appointments · work and study · community activities, clubs and groups · shopping and errands · family and social visits · airport and interstate connections. A worker doesn’t just drive — if it helps, they come in with you, take notes at the appointment, and make sure you understood what was said before you leave.
Learning to travel independently
For many people the goal isn’t a lift — it’s not needing one. Planning a route and reading a timetable · practising the journey with a worker until it’s familiar · metroCARD and concessions · what to do when a bus doesn’t come or you miss a stop · building up to travelling alone. Travel training sits across both travel assistance and life skills funding; many people hold both. Daily living and life skills
The practical bits
If an appointment runs late, the worker stays. You won’t be left finding your own way home because a booking window closed.
