Assistance with Daily Personal Activities

NDIS personal care in Adelaide

The everyday things, done your way, in your home.

Personal care is hands-on support with the things that keep you well and comfortable — showering, dressing, grooming, using the toilet, moving safely around your home. It's funded under Core Supports as Assistance with Daily Personal Activities.

Complete Choice provides personal care in your own home across Adelaide, within 100km of the CBD — a short daily visit or several hours a day, seven days a week.

What it covers

Showering, bathing and washing · dressing and undressing · hair, shaving, oral care and grooming · toileting and continence support · transfers, hoisting and moving safely · prompting and support with medication · help with eating and drinking · getting ready for bed, and overnight support.

How it’s done matters as much as what’s done. This is intimate support, and it’s delivered at your pace, your way — the routine is yours, not ours.

How support is arranged

Morning and evening routines — the most common pattern. Drop-in visits through the day for specific tasks. Extended shifts where support needs to be continuous. Overnight — a sleepover with a worker on site, or active overnight support with someone awake.

We build the roster around your week. When your regular worker is away, we tell you in advance and send someone briefed on your routine — not a stranger with a checklist.

Choosing your workers

Tell us your preferences — gender, language, cultural background, and whether you’d rather keep the same small team. We work to match you. Where a support is delivered by one worker alone rather than a team, we complete a risk assessment before it starts — a condition of our NDIS registration, there to keep you safe.

When personal care needs clinical input

Some support sits at the line between personal care and nursing — catheter care, complex bowel care, PEG feeding, wound management, medication administration rather than prompting. We’re registered for both High Intensity Daily Personal Activities and Community Nursing Care, so a registered nurse can oversee the clinical side and train the workers who see you daily.

How it starts

  1. Call us.

08 7009 4462. Tell us what you need — or what you're not sure about. Working that out is a normal first conversation.

  2. Plan it together.

We look at your plan and your funding, meet you, and agree what support looks like — in writing, before anything starts.

  3. Support begins.

With review dates built in, so it keeps fitting as your life changes.

Questions people ask

What is personal care under the NDIS?

Hands-on support with daily personal activities — washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, moving safely.

Which funding pays for it?

Core Supports, under Assistance with Daily Personal Activities.

Can I choose my support worker?

Tell us your preferences and we match you. Single-worker supports get a risk assessment first — a condition of our registration.

Can I have the same worker each time?

That's what we aim for, and what makes the support work. Complete continuity isn't always possible across leave, but you shouldn't be meeting someone new every week.

Can you support me overnight?

Yes — sleepover or active overnight.

What if my needs change?

We review and adjust the roster. If your needs grow past your funding, we tell you and help you build evidence for a review.

Do you support complex health needs?

Yes — see high intensity and complex care.

How much does support cost?

Our supports are billed in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and every price is in your service agreement before support starts. No surprises on an invoice.
